Paper Diary

Hi, I'm Monica

I am a licensed clinical social worker who helps people who have experienced trauma and loss find a way to cope with the present while making meaning of the past. I offer a supportive and compassionate environment to help people make changes and reach their goals with patience, encouragement, and humor - Oh, and I actually talk during sessions!

New York City has been my home since 2010, and I really love how living in “the big apple,” with all it’s opportunities to see theatre and dance, actually feels like living in a small community to connect, play, and learn with like-hearted people.

Before moving to NYC, I lived in Washington DC for almost 15 years. When I’m not working, I enjoy dancing (ballet), reading, baking (especially candy-making!), going to the theater, and hanging out with my dog, Gertie.

Through our work together I am confident you can experience self-growth and improved mental and emotional health. I’d love to have a quick chat to see if we are the right fit. Contact me today so we can start working to find you some relief.

I use evidence-based approaches to my work, and

have a strong background in trauma therapy.

Some types of therapeutic approaches I use are:
